For the last four years I have been a consultant for the BC Cancer Agency Prevention Programs on a variety of print and web publications. These include brochures, fact sheets, posters, rack cards, newsletters, and various other promotional and educational tools. The Prevention Programs’ mission is to spread the word to British Columbians about the preventable causes of cancer, which include healthy eating, physical activity, sun safety, and tobacco cessation.

For some of the agency’s print publications, I handle the design myself; for others, I work with a designer, such as Chantal Gabriel of
SeaShine Design.

In addition to print publications, I was the writer and editor of the website
hi5living.org, a health promotion and cancer prevention website for youth. Launched in Nov. 2009, the site has picked up two awards: a Best in Class from the 2010 Interactive Media Awards, and an Outstanding Web Award from the 2010 Web Awards. I am currently writing all the text for a new website on second primary cancer, www.prevention4survivors.com, which will launch in late 2011.
